If you have prom, an event, or want to take some photos with a friend here are some helpful tips!
1. Adding some shape to your face for pictures is very important so you do not look flat. For this I recommend contouring. Try to avoid contouring with any orange tone bronzer so you don't look muddy; a matte grey tone would look most natural. For an even contour go across your hairline, a little on your temples. under your cheek bones, and under your jaw bone. I recently got the Sephora Contouring 101 Face Palette; it includes 3 shades of contour powder and 3 highlighting powders.
2. Skip a shimmer highlight for pictures, or just make sure it is not very powerful. If it is you will end up with a white strip on your face in pictures where the highlighter was. To highlight in pictures use matte brightening shades. Use a yellow tone powder to brighten the under eyes and a cream color for the high points of your face and under your contour. The same Sephora palette has 2 great highlight powders.
3. Brows are a key feature on your face and also frame your face; that's why its important to tame and fill in your brows for pictures. For a natural but still defined look, use a brow powder and a setting gel. I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder.
4. To make your lash line appear thicker (in person and in pictures) apply a black eyeliner to your tight line. A tight line is the strip of skin under where your eyelashes grow. Also to brighten and open your eyes, apply a nude eyeliner into your waterline. Your waterline is the strip of skin before where your bottom eyelashes grow.
5. Be sure to add some blush onto the apples of your cheeks. Do this to add color into your face just in case the photo washes you out.
6. If you are using flash photography, be sure to skip spf in your foundation so you do not get flash back.
Hope these tips were helpful!

April 2015 Ipsy Bag (
I received my Ipsy bag for April this week and was very pleased with the contents. If you don't know, Ipsy is a monthly subscription bag filled with 5 sample products. I thought I would show you the products and my opinions on them. This month's bag was a woven wicker and string pattern.
The first product is the Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum. You apply this daily under your moisturizer. It says it will replenish and protect the skin for the day. It is also rich in moisturizer and nutrients to smooth and brighten your skin and is paraben free. I have not yet used this product, but from the description I have high hopes. (full size $41).
The next product is the Starlooks Lipgloss in Cuddle. It is a nude peach shade with gold shimmer. The product is not sticky but not so slippery that it doesn't last on the lips. It comes with a doe foot applicator, and the formulation smells like vanilla. Overall this is a great lipgloss. (full size $13).
Next is the Jor'el Parker fragrance in Femina. It is 8.8 ml which sound small but is actually really big to test out a perfume. It is compact and has a roller ball which makes it perfect to throw in your purse. The notes include a mix of citrus, vanilla, floral and musk. It is not an overpowering smell and is quite fresh for spring. (full size $55)
I also received the Hikari blush in Tango. It is a matte pink coral shade, personally a little bright for blush for me. The product at first comes off very pigmented but blends out very nicely. My only complaint with the product is that the smell is a very strong powdery aroma. Overall the blush is very budget friendly and leaves a great finish. ($15)
Last is The Balm Nude Dude eyeshadow in Fit. It is a shimmer gold bronze color. You can't actually get the eyeshadows separately, but they come in a palette. The formulation is a mix between creamy and dry. The pigmentation is great and blends easily. Overall I think I will get a lot of use out of it. (Palette $36)
Top to bottom: Blush, lipgloss, eyeshadow
