"Brown Bag Beauty"

Hey everyone! I wanted to write a blog post today about the charity project I am working on for homeless women. Since I am interested in makeup, I wanted to include that in a service project for our city. I call it "Brown Bag Beauty". My plan is to make brown lunch sacks filled with 5 beauty samples. I will be delivering these to the reSTART homeless shelter and, hopefully, to others in the area. Most women in these shelters only receive necessary products like body wash and deodorant. My goal is to give the women a Brown Bag Beauty bag that contains something that makes them feel special and beautiful!  Let's face it:  many women love make up and deserve to have it and use it!

I'm writing this to ask a huge favor! Any beauty samples or products that are in date and un-used would be very useful for Brown Bag Beauty. They can be anything from full sized unopened products to small unopened samples that have to do with makeup or beauty. The address to send them to is: 4520 Madison Avenue, Suite 200, Kansas City, MO 64111. Anything you have would be helpful! Keep collecting and sending! Thank You!

I'm Back! My Halloween Makeup

Hey everyone sorry I was absent for the month of October! Hope everyone's Halloween was great! I came up with a very last minute costume and thought I would share it with you! I decided last night I would be a broken porcelain doll. The makeup was very simple!

Products I used:
Hourglass Veil Primer
Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation
Charlotte Tilbury The Retoucher Concealer
Sephora Conturing 101 Face Palette
Ulta Freesia Blush
Nars Pro Prime Eyeshadow Base
Lora Pro Palette
Kat Von D Tatto Liner
Revlon Lip Buter Lollipop

To start I used a luminous primer to give my skin the glow of porcelain. Then I used a very full coverage foundation because I wanted that "doll like" perfect skin.(I applied it over my lips as well) To add a highlight without the shimmer, I used a light concealer under my eyes, on my cheek bones, my chin, and my forehead. I blended everything with a beauty blender. Next I set my face with a pink tone powder from my contour palette. I used the pink tone to make my skin look a little lighter to add to the doll effect. To finish the face I applied a tone of blush to the apples of my cheeks, slightly blending back. It's very important to have a heavy hand with the blush to give your face a flushed look. Next I prepped my eyelids with primer to make the white eyeshadow stand out. I applied the white from my lid to my brow bone. Next I used a dark brown to make a cut crease. To do this you need a small brush and then slowly drag the shadow in a line along the natural divot of your crease. Next is eyeliner. I did small wings on the top lash line, and on the lower lash line, I drew dramatic eyelashes. Leave around a centimeter to a centimeter and a half between your lash line and where you draw the eyelashes to apply some white eyeliner. This will make your eyes look big and round. For the lips, apply some lipstick over your concealed lips. Slightly go over your cupids bow and the go straight down to the bottom lips, skipping applying lipstick to the outer portion of your lips. Overall you want small, O or heart shaped lips. The last step is to make some cracks on you face. I did a crack on my forehead and off of my lip. You want to make it thick with multiple little cracks coming off of it.

That's my Halloween Look! Hoped you enjoyed it
