Sun Bum

Moisturizing, especially in summer, is so important. Today I will share with you 4 of my favorite SPF products. First you need to remember a couple important tips. Pretty much everything should be protected. Anything from your ears to feet can get burned, even if you're not outdoors. You can get hit by rays in the car and through your windows even if it sounds unlikely. A fact many people don't know is that sunscreen can't be layered. If you put on face moisturizer and put on base with SPF they will cancel each other out, creating less SPF rather than double the amount.

The first product is for your hair. It sounds odd to put SPF on your hair, but realistically it can be damaged from the sun. The one I use is from a local salon, Studio B B Protected, but Aveda and Fekkai have similar products. The Studio B spray is a detangler that keeps the color and life in your hair. It has a tropical smell that is perfect for summer with notes of coconut and beach air.

The next two products are for your face. My favorite sun screen for the face is the L'Oreal Silky Sheer Face Lotion 50+. It's water resistant and oil free. The formula absorbs easily into the skin and leaves a dewy, but not greasy, finish. If you're not swimming and need light coverage my favorite would be the Bobbi Brown BB Cream SPF 35. It is a creamy formula, but does not look cakey. The BB cream leaves a very dewy finish and can be powdered down.

Lastly is SPF for your lips. The skin on your lips is very thin and requires special treatment. The Mary Kay Lip Protector Sunscreen has SPF 15. It smells more like sunscreen that lip balm and is not very moisturizing. Another option that is a basic chap stick is the Soft Lips Cube. Both of these help prevent painful sunburned lips.

Hope you enjoyed some new sunscreen options and helpful tips!

Colour Pop Metamorphosis Quad

I recently received the Colour Pop Metamorphosis Quad. This quad was designed by Coffee Break With Danni who is a popular youtuber! There are four eyeshadows, all very unique. The overall texture of Colour Pop shadows is like a mouse but applies like a powder. The eyeshadow is very soft and movable with your finger in the pan. I have never seen an eyeshadow like it; they're great! The pigmentation is amazing with fingers, and synthetic flat brushes. The only problem with them is that the eyeshadows are so creamy they don't work well with natural bristle brushes or blending brushes. Working with a crease shade is very difficult but can be done. It starts out with barely any pigment but can be built up to resolve the problem. Overall this quad was so fun to play with!

The first shade is Strength. It is a satin finish warm tone light brown. This shade is great to warm up any look. It can be used as an all over lid shade, in the crease, or my favorite way, packed onto the outer corner. When I put this color in the outer corner I will usually pair it with a champagne pigment or one of the shadows from this quad. Next is Bravery. It is a Matte dark brown. This shade is great for definition on the lash line or an all over lid shade paired with another shadow from the quad. This shadow is much easier to user with fingers (with a brush it doesn't apply evenly). Out of the 4 shades this is the least creamy.

The next two shadows are both sheer opal finishes. These are meant to go on top of other eyeshadows/creams. You can use the two eyeshadows above as a base. They give them a different undertone depending on the tone of the sheer opal. They also add more dimension and shimmer (almost giving it a wet look). Kindness is warm brown pink (which is the part that is sheer) with a metallic silver, blue, and green sparkle. It gives other shadows a warm undertone with the layer of metallic shimmer. The last one is Hope. It is a creamy white (sheer) with light pink and purple shimmer. it gives the base shadow a frosty finish with the shimmer.

The top swatch is Maybelline Inked in Pink Color Tattoo, next is Hope, and last is the two together

The fist swatch is Maybelline Color tattoo in Bad to the Bronze, next is Kindness, and last is the two together.

I really love this quad from Colour Pop! It has great quality, unique shadows. I recommend these shades to everyone! Hope you enjoyed the review!
