Brush Starter Set Seggestion

In my opinion brushes can make or break a beauty product. If you don't have the perfect tool to use the product might seem worse than it really is. There are so many options for makeup brushes that range from high end to drugstore. Makeup brushes are a place where you might splurge to apply your makeup easily and effortlessly. There are also brush sets that come with all the brushes you could ever need! If you do get a set be sure you like the brand of brushes before you limit your self to one type. They all have a different feel. (My favorite are the Zoeva ones!)

Face brushes
My first face brush recommendation is the Zoeva 102 Silk Finish. I love this brush for base, like liquid or powder foundation. It usually leaves the foundation a little more sheered out than the original coverage and without any streaks. I prefer a rounded brush for base over the flat ones because they allow the foundation to set into your skin rather than it laying on top.

Next is the Real Techniques Setting brush. I use this brush for highlighter and setting my under eyes with powder. This is perfect for the under eyes because is is not too big or too small. Also the flatness of the brush helps with patting the powder on rather than dusting it across. The brush works well with both powder and liquid highlighters because it's synthetic.

Lastly is the Bobbi Brown Powder brush. As the name suggests this brush is great for powdering the face. Because the bristles are a little less condense, the powder never looks cakey. This brush can also be used for bronzer and, if used carefully, for blush. The brush is a little big for blush, but you can softly squeeze the base of the bristles and make the brush smaller for your cheeks.

Eye Brushes
The first eye bush is probably my all time favorite! It is the Zoeva 234 Luxe Smoky Shader. It is a non-synthetic brush, and the bristles are not too dense and also not too fluffy. I love this brush for the eyelid because it is flat and also the rounded edge helps with getting right up to the crease. This brush is perfect for cream eyeshadow, pigments, and eyeshadow.

The only other eye brush that is necessary is a blending/crease brush. My favorite for this is the Mac 217. This is a natural hair brush that is very fluffy and not too small and not too big for the crease. It diffuses color perfectly. The only problem I have with it is that it can poke your eye because the bristles are not that soft.

Those are all my brush suggestions for a starter kit! Hope you enjoyed!
